The 1st BS4W meeting was a BLAST….

January 26, 2013 was the launch of the BS4W Bible Study group.  It was so wonderful to hear from each of the women who attended, and I personally was encouraged and reminded that regardless of how many years a person has been married you can never get ‘too much’ encouragement as it relates to strengthening your marriage.

My most favorite moments were hearing from women who were married for longer than I have been ALIVE!!! I mean they REALLY spoke words of encouragement to those of us who are still ‘young’ and ‘green’ (as my mother would say).

The passages we focused on for January 26, 2013 were: Mark 11:12-26; John 15: 1-8; and Galatians 5:22-23

In the passage in Mark we explored what happens when there is ‘false advertisement’ like the fig tree and the temple, and reflected on whether the ‘image’ on the outside was false advertisement for what was actually going on inside our marriages.  We then turned to the passage in John to be reminded of how we can guarantee we are tapped into the RIGHT source and ensure we are bearing fruit in our lives.  Finally we ended off looking at the fruits of the spirit in Galatians.  The discussion questions were mostly surrounding the fruits of the spirit. (Listed below)

  1. What are the areas of your life you are most fruitful in?
  2. How does that positively impact your marriage?
  3. In your opinion, which one of the ‘fruit of the spirit’ is MOST essential in marriage?
  4. Which ‘fruit’ need to be developed more in your life?
  5. How would that improve your marriage?

Our next meeting will be on Saturday February 9, 2013 9:00am-10:30 and we will be discussion Chapter 1 of the Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian
